Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name of Winona Laura Hoowitz, who was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her after her hometown. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from a Jewish family. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family moved from Mendocino County to California when she was seven years old. They didn't even have electricity. Ryder was an avid reader and spent her time reading books as she had no television. Ryder was 12 when she was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. She landed her debut role on the big screen in 1986 at the age of 15 older. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. Ryder hoped her career in acting would end this. But, unfortunately, that didn't take place. It didn't stop her from following her dreams. Beetlejuice, a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big breakthrough. Ryder was able to continue playing parts that proved successful in several movies. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated to win Academy Awards. One of was for her performance as a character in The Age of Innocence.
